2020 was for our regional group, like many others, a very difficult year. Following a successful charity quiz in Jersey in February all other planned events were cancelled.
We did finally manage to organise a dinner with motivational speaker in Jersey and a fantastic event with the States of Guernsey communication team in Guernsey towards the end of last year.
Our first event of 2021 was a very well-attended charity fund-raiser, a live online Q&A session with local presenter, journalist and writer, Gary Burgess, raising money for Cancer Research UK.
Other events that we have managed to stage since then include:
- April 2021 – ‘How to measure your internal communications and why it matters’ with Advita Patel (online – hosted by Hannah Shellswell and William Church in Jersey)
- April 2021 – ‘Branding and Brewing’ with the Potting Shed (Guernsey)
- July 2021 – ‘Meet the editor and tour of the Guernsey Press’ (Guernsey)
CIPR_CI Annual Forum. - Our flagship event which alternates between the two islands returns to Jersey on Thursday 21st October with a livestream to Guernsey. Entitled 'Communicating in a Cyber Crisis', there is a wonderful line-up of speakers that should appeal to a wider business audience, and includes an interview with representatives from Appleby law firm about the crisis they faced in 2017 that triggered global awareness.
