Dave is a digital engagement manager in the government communication service at the DWP. He previously worked for Leeds City Council, leading on marketing and communications for One Adoption, the regional adoption agency and for the Leeds City Council's learning places programme. He worked with Safer Leeds on issues around rough sleeping and homelessness and led behaviour change comms as part of the West Yorkshire Safer Roads too. Dave is a chartered practitioner and having been vice chair, and a voting committee member for Y&L as well as Pride co-ordinator in previous years is now chair of the Y&L committee.
Lucie is a senior B2B PR specialist working for a multi-award-winning Leeds-based agency. Her experience spans tech, agriculture, professional services, FMCG, healthcare and manufacturing. Fiercely passionate about the communications industry, Lucie has served on the committee for three years and is delighted to be supporting Dave as Deputy Chair in 2019, as well as leading on the organisation of the biggest PR party of the year – the annual PRide awards!
Naj is Publicist & Broadcaster with 19 years’ experience in all round communications from within the sectors of finance, education, mental health, energy, local authority, charity & entertainment, working with both the public & private sectors.
He runs his own PR company, Modak PR, & is passionate about working with both local & international clients.
He dedicated his first year on the CIPR Yorkshire & Lincolnshire (CIPR Y & L) committee, helping the team in various areas, including the annual PRide Awards. He is now a Chartered PR Practitioner, a CIPR Client Advisor & the Lincolnshire Lead for CIPR Y & L. In addition, he is enjoying taking up more responsibility for the PRide Awards working with Lucie & the team.

His career highlights include leading media activity for a royal visit, PR for a number of films presented at the prestigious Cannes Film festival & more recently, campaigning for the introduction of a Town of Culture Award & voluntarily promoting the success of people with learning & other disabilities in sport.
Rebecca has a Masters in Journalism and worked at the Daily Telegraph as a content editor and subeditor before joining Definition in 2013. Rebecca works across a range of business-to-business and consumer clients and heads up the agency’s healthcare division. She has led award-winning campaigns and specialises in strategic communications, media relations, copywriting and brand development. Rebecca worked as a team member on accounts that led to the agency being awarded UK Public Sector Agency of the Year twice in two years and was part of the team who won the 2016 European Excellence Award for Issues and Reputation Management for disability organisation Purple. She was also named Outstanding Young Communicator in 2018’s Yorkshire & Lincolnshire PRide Awards.
A multi award-winning PR professional, Leigh has 15 years’ experience in the industry. Currently an Account Director in the PR division of leading digital marketing agency, Epiphany, working across a broad range of industries, Leigh was previously Corporate PR Manager at Slimming World with a lead role in campaign management, health professional comms, social media, corporate social responsibility and crisis comms. Leigh’s campaigns have won national and regional awards from the CIPR and PRCA, a global AMEC evaluation award and awards from the IPM and Third Sector. He gained a Distinction for the CIPR Diploma and has presented on social media best practice at the PRCA DARE Awards.
Laura has more than eight years' experience in PR, working at multiple agencies in Leeds since moving to the city in 2010. Now an Account Director at Jaywing PR, Laura has experience of working with clients in a wide range of sectors including retail, education, home improvement and interiors, construction and finance. In 2016, Laura was named 'Young Professional of the Year' at the PRMoment awards, and 'Outstanding Young Communicator' at the CIPR Yorkshire and Lincolnshire PRide Awards.
Josephine is a marketing and communications officer at Bradford Council, with lead officer role for internal communications, and a shared responsibility for external marketing and communications on all corporate themes including elections, civic affairs, budgets, digital transformation and more. Having worked in communications and PR for over 14 years, Josephine is looking forward to getting more involved in CIPR this year.
