Leading the Way on Climate Change in the Public Sector

Leading the Way on Climate Change in the Public Sector

CIPR’s regional and sectoral groups have been hosting a series of events to support practitioners in better understanding the issue of climate change and to explore the impact of COP26 on the public relations industry.

Join CIPR’s Local Public Services Group for a Zoom webinar, chaired by Holly Bremner (Head of Communications, CITB) on Monday 13 December, 12:00-1.00pm GMT.

More than 300 councils have declared a climate emergency. Councils, along with many other public sector organisations, are taking action to reduce their own carbon emissions and working with partners and local communities to tackle the impact of climate change on their local area.

Speakers;
Dave Britton (Associate Director of Communications and Engagement, Met Office) will focus on the communication of climate change science evidence in a way that promotes action from governments, industry and citizens.
Louise Morton (Communications Manager, Surrey County Council) will share the challenges of communicating a climate emergency to residents.
Dominic Ridley-Moy (Behaviour Change Network) will talk about how behavioural insights can help people do the right thing to tackle climate change.

This will be followed by Q&As.

This webinar is worth 5 CPD points and is free of charge for CIPR members and non-members.
