Managing Crisis Communications in Educational Contexts

In this session, Crisis Communications experts and CIPR Fellows Amanda Coleman and Emma Duke will be in discussion, drawing on their experience of managing crisis communications in educational contexts.

Amanda Coleman is a Chartered PR Practitioner, fellow of both the Chartered Institute of Public Relations and the Public Relations and Communications Association. She led the police response to the Manchester Arena terrorist attack in 2017 and has managed many operational and reputational crises. Amanda is currently the Chair of the UK Emergency Planning Society Communication Professional Working Group.

Emma Duke is Chartered communicator, and Fellow of CIPR. She provides strategic PR and Communications consultancy to leaders and organisations, with nearly 20 years experience in the field. Emma has supported business globally to address accusations and misinformation. Prior to setting up her consultancy, she was working as Head of Communications for the Education division of Oxford University Press.
