Want to develop your skills and experience in strategy, decision-making, governance, risk management, and more? If so, volunteering as a charity trustee can be a brilliant addition to your personal development. It’s also a powerful way to give back to causes that you care about.
Held during Trustee’s Week, this event is for CIPR members across all sectors who are interested in finding out more about charity trusteeship.
You’ll hear from fellow CIPR members who hold not-for-profit Board roles and from colleagues with an expertise in helping you prepare for a Board role.
We will explore:
• What trusteeship involves
• What charities are looking for in trustees
• The value communications professionals add to charity Boards
• How to prepare for and start your Board journey
• How to manage trusteeship with your day job
Our panel will include:
• Leon Ward, charity CEO and trainer on charity trusteeship
• Shireen Ali-Khan MCIPR – communications and intersectionality specialist who holds several Board positions
• Anna Pedroza Chart.PR – Founder and Director of Pedroza Communications and trustee of the Teacher Development Trust
• John Clegg Chart.PR FCIPR – CIPR Fellow and experienced charity trustee
There will be a chance to put your questions to the panel during the event.
The event is free for CIPR members and £5 +VAT for non-members.
