Rachel is communication director for IBM UK Healthcare and Life Sciences. She’s led board level communications in the NHS, HM Revenue and Customs, Cabinet Office, Department of Health and local government. Rachel, a Chartered Practitioner and CIPR Council Member, was twice named a top ten public sector communications director in PRWeek’s Power Book. She’s a visiting lecturer at Quadriga University in Berlin on their Leadership MBA, and a fellow of the Institute of Internal Communication.
Jude is strategic communications lead at NHS Digital, based in Leeds. She has nearly two decades of experience in NHS communications, mainly working with front-line mental health, learning disability and community services, as well as working across multiple health and social care systems. Jude has strategic and operational experience across a broad range of communications disciplines. She is a multi-award winner, committed to her values and loves finding a creative edge to ensure messages resonate.
Maya is an independent communications consultant who specialises in healthcare communications. Her work is primarily for pharmaceutical clients, but she has also worked for the NHS and not-for-profit organisations in UK and Europe. Maya’s experience includes development of award-winning communication strategies, crisis and issues management, media relations, stakeholder engagement, and content creation. She’s also been a judge for CIPR’s PRide and Excellence awards.
With more than a decade’s experience, Sarah is an award-winning chartered communications professional, currently serving as head of digital communications at Cambridge University Hospitals. Prior to this, Sarah developed two-way communications to support Essex County Fire and Rescue Service’s largest ever transformation programme. As the CIPR Health group's Social Media Editor, Sarah creates engaging social campaigns, such as our mental health and wellbeing campaign #CIPRWellbeing, as well as sharing best practice with our members.
Naz has worked in the national communications team at NHS England and NHS Improvement for past six years. She recently joined CIPR health group as events coordinator after completing a diploma in Public Affairs. Prior to a career in communications, Naz was as an English teacher at a secondary school in Bradford.
James is the senior communications manager for planning and campaigns at Public Health Wales. A long-time member of the CIPR and CIM, his career spans roles in the NHS, central and local government and consultancy. James joined the CIPR health group to champion the voice of communicators working in Wales, encourage CIPR membership, and give back to the profession. To date he has worked on producing our CIPR mental health resources and the 2019 AGM.
Bhavin leads corporate communications and public affairs for Ferring Pharmaceuticals, including brand and reputation management, corporate and product communications, and social media. Prior to this, Bhavin was global head of communications for the immunology and dermatology franchise at Novartis HQ. Bhavin is also a member of the CIPR health group, supporting the committee to ensure the best representation of PR professionals in the healthcare space.
Jo founded Twist Consultants, helping organisations and individuals successfully navigate organisational change by putting people front and centre. Working with senior leaders and projects teams as well as internal communications specialists, Jo providers straightforward change consultancy, leadership coaching and workshops using wellbeing and communication tools. Jo is part of the mental health taskforce, our team focused on supporting positive mental health for CIPR members. She is an Accredited PR practitioner and Fellow of the RSA.
Tim is Corporate Communications Manager at the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), which is the professional regulator of nurses and midwives in the UK, and nursing associates in England. He’s a visual and verbal identity specialist, responsible for design and tone of voice across the NMC. He also leads on video, photography, newsletters and accessible corporate communications. Tim previously spent nine years working in communications at Motorsport UK, the sport’s national governing body.
